It was such a busy weekend. We had to go out of town on Friday for a basketball tournament in Port Alberni. Garrett and I stayed with Uncle Ricky and Auntie Katie while Real stayed with the rest of the team at a hotel. Friday's game went great, they pulled a win out of Ucluelet but Saturday's games did not go quite as well against the ADSS and Balena's teams.........actually, they got spanked big time, but I guess it's an opportunity for growth lol. We also managed to get some great visiting in while we were there. Grandpa and Grandma came and watched the games and cheered on the Wolves. Monday was busy too. On Mondays and Wednesdays I go down to Garrett's school to help with the hot lunch program. It only takes about an hour of my time and I enjoy going down to help out. The rest of this week is pretty much filled up with more basketball. Timberline has a chance to get even with ADSS this evening here in town, hopefully they do better in their home gym! Then starting on Thursday the team will be going back and forth to Courtenay for Vanier's Towhee Tournament which will go on until Saturday evening.
Since I was out of town and so busy with the go go go, I have just finished catching up on all of my layouts. These layouts cover our nieces and nephew as well as a couple of pages of Garrett. Enjoy your week!!!

Day 7/365
The days keep coming and so do the pages. Another double page layout for today. I haven't been able to get any new pictures printed lately so I have been going back through my stash of photos from the last couple of years. Todays layout is from one of my most favorite Christmas / New Years traditions ~ Sledding!!!! This was our "preview of the hill" sledding day lol. We took a drive up Mount Washington to have a look at the sledding area so we could be prepared for the next day. Even though we weren't really dressed for sledding we decided to take a couple quick trips down the hill and we had a blast! In fact we might have had more fun on that day than we did on the following day.
Day 8 & 9 will be done on Saturday after I get back from Real's basketball tournament in Port Alberni.

Day 6/365
Well, my plan is working out perfectly. I now have 5 single page layouts done and a double page. That's the most scrapbooking I have done in a while. I have an extra busy weekend coming up with a lot of photo opportunities. I'm going to be out of town for my son's basketball tournement so I will be doing Friday's and Saturday's layouts either Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Today's layout is about the newest edition to our family, our little girl Ginger. Right from the start Ginger had her new big brother on the ropes lol. She would chase him around the house, cornering him in the hallway against Garrett's door. He wasn't quite sure what to do with her, but after a couple of weeks he had her understanding who the alpha dog was -- her! We called her the "pirahna" because here little puppy teeth were so razor sharp. Her new attack on Dodger is to wait for him to come running towards her then she body slams him. I'm trying to break her of that. She loves to play with her toys and will bring you a variety of toys to play with. Her favorites are her stuffies. She tends to rip them open, pull all of the stuffing out of them and then rip the rest of it to pieces. She's my little "roo roo" and she keeps me on my toes!

Day 5/365
Wow, almost a full week into the new year! Time really does fly when you're having fun. It's been a good day today. Just as I thought they would, things are sorting themselves out and we are actually coming out a little bit ahead, imagine that. I even have my layout for today done and it isn't even 10 pm yet lol. I made a 2 page layout of Garrett's BMX racing. He bought a new BMX bike with all the money that he made while working for Grandma and Grandpa in Coombs in August. When we were at Ripzone getting the bike a guy from the BMX track in Cumberland happened to be in there and invited Garrett to come out and see the track and give it a shot. All it took was that one race and Garrett was hooked. He won 2nd place in his first race and was so happy when he got a trophy and a little sticky to go on a plaque and to top the season off, he came in 1st place and received a huge trophy that was 3 feet tall. We are now waiting for spring to hurry up and get here so he can get back to racing.

Day 4/365
Today I sat here wondering what part of my life I could scrapbook. As I pondered the many different photos that I have waiting to be put on paper, I was alerted by my facebook profile that my husband had used one of my photos as his profile picture. So off I went to check out his profile. When I saw which photo he had chosen, I knew immediately what my layout for today would be. This year was our second annual camping trip to Horne Lake. It's a beautiful place to camp, with a warm lake for swimming in, and the caves for exploring what more can a family ask for! This year we were joined by friends which made the trip just that much better and after a comedy of errors (well, we can laugh at them now lol) everybody had a great time. So today's layout brings me back to my favorite summer moment when we could all be together as a family.

Day 3/365
Here we are already at day 3, where does the time go! I have been busy making the most out of the last few days of winter break that the kids had, but I am oh so thankful that tomorrow is back to school. In keeping with my resolutions for this year, when Garrett asked to go disc golfing today I said YES. Normally I probably would have said we could do it tomorrow after school, or made some other excuse because it was just starting to rain, but instead I grabbed the dogs (figured I could work their walk into my photo excursion of the kids disc golfing) and my camera and off we went. It's an interesting game. Mostly I just took pictures and tried to control the dogs which isn't easy. Everytime I tried to take a picture the dogs would pull on their leash, which in turn would cause my arm and more importantly the camera to move, it makes for some pretty blurry pictures lol. Oh well, I'm not gonna worry about it, I got some good shots, and the bad ones really capture the moment lol. So today's layout is of our disc golfing fun, enjoy!

Day 2/365
Today has been a busy day. This is mostly due to the fact that I am doing today what I normally would have put off until tomorrow, or the day after, or the week after..... But not anymore, I'm just going to do what needs to be done. Garrett and I took the dogs for a walk along the Beaver Lodge trails today. A nice little hour and a half jaunt where I walked and he rode his bike. It was a great walk, even the dogs behaved today. I brought my camera so I could capture our walk for todays layout page. After our walk we had some lunch and then I went over for a cup of tea to my friend Paula's house. It's always nice to spend time with friends even if it is just for a half hour or so. After getting home and driving Real to work I printed my pictures off and got this layout done. I love the picture of Garrett, with specks of mud on his face. He took turns taking the dogs for a run with his bike. Dodger definitely did much better at this than Ginger but I'm sure she will catch on quickly, she certainly loves to run! I'm very pleased with the way my day has gone, so now I am off to get some supper on the table and then have some relaxing time reading one of my new books. Remember to cherish all the little moments of your day and let go of all those things that you can't control.
